UV Black Light Blue Bulb
This bulb has a Black/Blue coating to filter out the white light (making it ambient) whilst transmitting 350 nanometres of UV.

Which is the best tube to use, black or white?

They are both UV Black Lights.

The BUG EATER comes standard with the black one which gives off a duller light and it’s only human that see them differently. It doesn't really make that much difference as the biting insects see them the same.

Yellow Bulb
Repels Biting Insects

When do you use the Yellow UV Light?

• At times like full moon when the BLB or BLW bulbs struggle to attract insect because of the competitive light.

• You can also swap the bulb to a yellow repelling one and take your Bug Eater with you when staying at your beach shacks / homes. It works as a great alternative when only there for short stays as the bulb repels Mosquitoes, Midge, Sandflies, No-see-ems, Beetles, Moths and more.

When using the yellow bulb you place the Bug Eater in the area to be protected facing source of insects.

IMPORTANT – For maximum performance we recommend you use the BLB or BLW bulb for long term as the idea is to take the insect out and Break the Breeding Cycle.

    Lactic Octenol- Pheromone Attractant 250ml
Our 'Mozzie Attract' Lactic Acid/Octenol - Pheromone Attractant simulates CO2 (breath), attracting the female mosquito during her search for protein (biting).

'Mozzie Attract' is spread by the fan's downdraft attracting and eliminating her prior to developing and hatching her eggs and increases the Bug Eater's effectiveness by targeting both the female and male mosquito.

Recommended for initial installation of Bug Eater where extreme mosquito presence is evident or following plagues blown in during storms or heavy wind conditions.

    Contains: Lactic Acid & Octenol

    What is Lactic Acid?

Lactic Acid is produced by fermentation of sugar. It is a water-white practically odourless, syrupy liquid with an agreeable pure acid taste.

Female Mosquitoes seeking a blood meal to nourish their eggs have chemoreceptors on their antennae that are stimulated by the scent of lactic acid and subsequently attracted to it.

    What is Octenol?

Octenol (1-octen-3-ol) is produced naturally in human perspiration and is a natural by-product that comes from animals that ingest large amounts of vegetable matter e.g. cattle and is sometimes called "cow's breath". Octenol simulates CO2 (breath) and attracts biting insects.
